Pantry Makeover

PANTRY MAKEOVER

I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one that binged watched the hit show The Home Edit on Netflix in 2 days! I couldn’t wait for us to close on our house and make it through the wedding so I could finally get my hands on the pantry! Watching The Home Edit really showed me that it doesn’t really matter if you have a ton of space or not you can still make it nice, organized, and efficient. For all the months leading up to me actually moving into the house, our pantry had no order or system which caused us to continuously buy duplicates and even waste food. Here are some of my pantry tips if you are going through the same thing in your home:

Pantry Tips:

  1. Buy Acrylic Containers – I’ve not only loved the look of acrylic containers, but they have made our lives so much easier! We can now easily see when we are running low on things such as cereal or trail mix because they all have a designated clear container.
  2. Plan Out Important Zones – If The Home Edit did teach me anything else it was to make zones! We don’t have the biggest pantry in the world, so making designated zones for our breakfast foods, snacks and dinner items was key to make sure our pantry didn’t continue to look cluttered.
  3. Measure Out Pantry Space – Learn from my mistake and measure your space first. I literally bought up everything and had the mindset of what doesn’t work out I’ll just take it back. Now if you are like me and that works for you definitely do it because sometimes in the moment you don’t know what you need and also if you sign up to be a POP Rewards Member with The Container Store you will get 15% off each item you purchase. Getting the POP Rewards Membership was a lifesaver for me and saved us a lot of money on the items we needed to complete our pantry.
  4. Use Labels – Labels make everything come together! I know a lot of people use their Circut machine to make their own custom labels, but to eliminate the hassle I decided to purchase The Home Edit labels in white (linked below) because they had the basic ones that I needed + you can go to their website and purchase custom ones as well (had to do that for things like David’s sunflower seed container).

Hope this inspires you to get organized in your home the way you’ve always wanted before we go into the new year! Make sure to check out my pantry reel on my IG (@kaylashaehooey) and I’ll see you guys on the next home project!
