Kayla & Co. | My Bridal Shower Details

We’re officially 2 months married and we couldn’t be happier to have the wedding behind us! We now have time to talk about things other than finalizing wedding details and now can focus more on our future together. While we have been living on the high since our big day, I’m so grateful to still be floating on all of the events and love I received for weeks leading up to our wedding.

When it came to my Bridal Shower I wanted no parts of planning. I literally told my Mom, Nana & Bridal Party “y’all got it” LOL. I didn’t want to pick a theme, a color, a game – NOTHING! I felt like I was already spread pretty thin between work, being a full-time grad student (I don’t know who told me it would be a great idea to take 9 hours the spring semester before my wedding), closing on our home, and still making my then FiancĂ© a priority. I felt extremely comfortable leaving the Bridal Shower in my Mom’s hands because 1) who honestly knows you better than your Mom and 2) this allowed for my Bridal Party to focus strictly on making my Bachelorette Party everything and more! Of course, my Bridal Party was sweet enough to constantly check if my Mom needed any help for all the months of planning and I truly feel that this was one of the smartest decisions I made for my and everyone else’s sanity.

To know me is to know my Mom because we are seriously two peas in a pod and the best of friends. Every event my Mom has ever thrown for me has been OVER the top, but she definitely outdid herself with my Bridal Shower! From the theme, Kayla & Co. to represent my all-time favorite color Tiffany Blue, to the decor (in partnership with Royal Luxury Events) she for sure did not half step! After much consideration and a whole lot of prayer, my beautiful Mom is finally starting her own event planning business – Kreative Events by Katina. I am so proud of you Mom for following your dreams and turning your passion into your purpose. Make sure to follow her business IG page in preparation for her grand opening in December 2021!

One of the biggest blessings of the entire day was to see some of my friends and family that I have not seen since before the pandemic! With the crazy year and some change we have all had it was great to see everyone healthy, happy, and in person. It was also amazing to see such a wide variety of friends that have known and seen me grow in all different parts of my life come together to show so much love. From family friends that literally have known me since birth to friends from high school and college, the amount of joy and love was overwhelming! I could not be more grateful for everyone that traveled near and far to show what a strong tribe I, and now David, have. To see how excited everyone was to be a part of celebrating David and I’s upcoming nuptials was, and is, a true blessing that we will never take for granted!

Of course, my Groom had to crash the party and join in on all the fun! In David’s fashion, he attempted to sneak in quietly while I was opening our gifts (check out the last blog post on all of our Registry Must-Haves), but as usual, got caught and made us all laugh. It was great having him there to join me in opening our registry gifts for our new home (some naughty and some nice LOL) and thanking our friends and family for all of their love and support!

HUGE shoutout to my amazing Godmother, aka Ms. B, for taking all of these beautiful pictures for me to remember this special day! Make sure to follow her business page, BB Photography, as well if you are looking for an event photographer.

Also, many of you guys have asked where I got my dress from and I actually ordered it 2 years from ASOS (sold out) after being highly influenced by my Blog Mentor Courtney (@greeneyesgoldsoul). She actually wore it at her Bridal Shower and I was OBSESSED with it and ordered it immediately! I never had the perfect occasion to wear it and I almost didn’t even wear it for my Bridal Shower (of course you all know I wanted something brand new lol). So glad that I changed my mind and saved my money by pulling this little number from the back of my closet. With that being said I definitely wanted to leave you all with some gorgeous dress options to make sure you make a statement at your Bridal Shower or Rehearsal Dinner!
